on 13 september 1820 callaghan tried felonious disposal of , putting away forged , counterfeit bank note £1 intent defraud bank of england @ middlesex gaol delivery (old bailey), london, england. sentenced 14 years (death commuted) , transported new south wales, arriving on 18 december 1821.


on 27 march 1822, committed offence of being drunk , disorderly , in hm gaol 1 week. had wear iron collar period , sit in stocks twice, 2 hours @ each time. committed offence on june 25 when caught sneaking out of master’s premises on 24th , remained absent night. sentenced sit in stocks 3 hours day. in 1823, callaghan committed offence when absent master’s premises 1 day , night. punished week, bread , water rations , had sit in stocks 2 hours each day.
