history
formation , first eps (2004–2006)

confide started in august 2004 aaron van zutphen, jason pickard , josh plesh deathcore act. went looking members in youth group. pickard friends billy pruden while both pruden , zutphen knew jeff helberg. these 5 made-up original confide line-up. released 2 eps @ time; innocence surround , introduction.

by end of 2006, vocalist josh plesh left band, , replaced ross michael kenyon, putting other band penknifelovelife on hiatus. kenyon born , raised in united kingdom , moved united states girlfriend , @ same time, went online search bands required vocalist. after communicating helberg, kenyon joined confide , moved house started practicing. change in line-up made band shift purist metalcore sound; dropping death metal influence.

in 2007, kenyon forced move england , began performing in penknifelovelife again, time putting confide on hiatus. after 1 tour , eyes bloodshot in europe stated on band s myspace leaving band permanently put focus confide. penknifelovelife split , confide started writing debut full-length.

signing science records , debut album (2006–2009)

confide s first full-length cd, titled shout truth, released on june 17, 2008 through science records. shout truth received mixed reviews; altsounds called albumn out on unoriginality: [t]he whole cd samey , they’re not producing different many other bands have done , sticking now-dated sound. toured extensively in 2008 support albumn. in comparison cd review, altsounds approved of live shows: confide delivers adrenaline-fueled live show not disappoint.

shortly after album released, science records eliminated parent company, warner bros. records , confide left without label causing founding member aaron zutphen , drummer arin ilejay leave in january 2009. in april 2009, band signed tragic hero records, recruited former member, drummer joel piper took role of clean vocalist, , guitarist joshua paul, , began performing across united states, on tours such don t take guns tour , alongside bands once nothing, here come falling, , in fear , faith.

on july 25, 2009, band announced going re-release album shout truth. re-release contained 2 bonus songs, 1 of cover of song such great heights postal service, , released on september 8, 2009.

following release, band headlined promotional tour alongside acts romantic tragedy , agraceful.

recover, cancelled tours, , break-up (2009–2010)

in january 2010, before recording process of confide s sophomore album started, founding bassist billy pruden left band pursue other endeavors. in february, finished recording second full-length studio album. new album, entitled recover, released may 18. on april 7, confide released new song, entitled when heaven silent, new album. on april 21, released second song new album titled or never. along new album, released second full-length music video. planning embark on band of brothers tour.

however, on september 28, 2010, confide dropped off band of brothers tour on 1 of last shows of tour in california. had taken name off of miss may s headlining monument tour. miss may bassist ryan neff confirmed confide had broken up, post later removed. joel piper stated on twitter, phone , email blowing right now. of guys might know why. tweet later deleted also. miss may went on talk tour because word alive dropped monument tour. stated word alive has decided go on tour day remember instead of monument tour, , confide informed not doing tour longer because breaking up. sorry disappoints, not have further information on band s situations. unclear on happening band. band updated official facebook page information tour in japan on september 29.

on october 4, 2010, confide officially announced breakup. stated part ways when returned tour of japan in october. band planned play handful of farewell shows on west coast. on november 7, 2010, confide had final show @ glasshouse in pomona, california. event sold-out show, filling venue s 800 person capacity, had local bands open them confide had shared stage @ other venues around southern california. after show over, fans around country outside awaiting goodbyes , take pictures band 1 last time.

reunion studio album, calm (2012–2013)

confide reunited one-time show @ playground festival in hidden valley, california on september 4, 2011. vocalist kenyon announced via twitter page announce solo project sometime in 2012. singer/drummer, piper announced , started new pop music project , released 1 online ep called 1 independent release charted @ top 40 on billboard heatseekers chart, , #11 on itunes pop album chart. later released full-length album dying live . , has seen stage handful of times solo artist producing other artists , bands. on august 31, 2012, confide announced reunion , launched kickstarter campaign. band needed $30,000 october 1, 2012 create new album. of september 4, band had reached $30,000 need produce album. on september 30, 2012 confide funded , had received $38,709 in fan support album project. according band s kickstarter page album set release in 2013. confide performing @ several festivals since funding of album, small scale touring speculated. band released first single, sooner or later , upcoming album on march 12, 2013. on july 1, 2013 confide announced new album calm finished , released on july 30, 2013.
