on april 25, 2012, council selected lou sarti, retired police officer , long-time resident of englishtown had served president of englishtown fire department, fill unexpired term of vacated seat.

englishtown located in 4th congressional district , part of new jersey s 12th state legislative district. prior 2010 census, englishtown had been part of 12th congressional district, change made new jersey redistricting commission took effect in january 2013, based on results of november 2012 general elections.
