amd announced in march 2017 release server platform based on zen, codenamed naples, in second quarter of year. platform include 1 , 2 socket systems. cpus in multi processor configurations communicate via amd s infinity fabric. each chip supports 8 channels of memory , 128 pcie 3.0 lanes, of 64 lanes used cpu cpu communication through infinity fabric when installed in dual processor configuration. amd officially revealed naples under brand name epyc in may 2017.
