canada supportive of israel , critical of hamas. brics countries called restraint on both sides , return peace talks based on arab peace initiative. european union condemned violations of laws of war both sides, while stressing unsustainable nature of status quo , , calling settlement based on two-state solution. non-aligned movement, arab league, , latin american countries critical of israel, countries in latter group withdrawing ambassadors israel in protest. south africa called restraint both sides , end collective punishment of palestinians .


there many pro-israel , pro-palestine demonstrations worldwide, including inside israel , palestinian territories. according ocha, 23 palestinians killed , 2,218 wounded idf (38% of latter live fire) during these demonstrations.
