Life and work Eva Fischer

eva born in daruvar (present-day croatia) in 1920. father, leopold, chief rabbi, , noted talmudist, deported nazis yugoslavia before outbreak of world war ii. unfortunately, more thirty members of family not lucky , disappeared in concentration camps. graduated academy of fine arts in lyon, before outbreak of war. in belgrade in 1941, witnessed city s bombardments nazis.

eva interned mother , younger brother in vallegrande concentration camp on croatian island of korčula under administration of italy. camp not terrible nazi camps. allowed assist sick mother brother in split hospital, received permission transferred bologna. there, in 1943, fischer hidden family under surname venturi. remembered period of life when italians tried them. @ time wanda varotti, massimo massei , many other members of “partito d’azione” gave tremendous her.

at end of war fischer chose rome adopted city. became member of group of artists on via margutta, , became close friends of them. met pablo picasso @ home of luchino visconti , talked extensively. pushed continue , progress in mysterious light of boats , southern architectures. moved paris, lived long time in saint germain des près. in madrid, fischer’s paintings – exhibited in museums – @ centre of debates between margutta artist , spanish painters, still fighting against franco’s politics.

in 1960s, fischer in london, exhibited @ lefevre gallery, italian painter modigliani had been allowed show last 1 man exhibition. in 1992 italian composer ennio morricone composed music 1 of exhibitions.
