the wom brook walk local nature reserve entirely within boundaries of village. stretches 1.5 miles (2.6 km) along both sides of wom brook, traversing village east west. contains mix of meadow , woodland. established after years of work local conservation group, friends of wom brook. there has been great excitement on arrival of wombourne s first little egret in october/november 2010. seen hunting , roosting around wombrook on number of occasions , daniel traynor captured first image of bird later shown in parish news.

the south staffordshire railway walk local nature reserve. follows course of former wombourne branch line, traversing wombourne north south, before swinging east towards himley , dudley. intersects wom brook walk @ western end of ham meadow. north, connects wolverhampton railway walk, affording pedestrian route wolverhampton via smestow valley lnr. former wombourne station @ bratch has car parking facilities, café , information.

the tow path of staffordshire , worcestershire canal runs north-south through western part of wombourne, parallel south staffordshire railway walk , intersecting wom brook walk @ giggetty. forms part of conservation area , can followed far kidderminster , stourport on severn south , wolverhampton , stafford north. said once year phantom ghost train runs through wombourne, many of local residents claiming have both seen , heard it.
