in 1927, land on st lucia campus built resumed brisbane city council using money donated james o neil mayne , sister mary emelia mayne replace less spacious city campus. city campus home gardens point campus of queensland university of technology. construction of new university @ st lucia began in 1937.

the university of queensland art museum located in james , mary emelia mayne centre on st lucia campus. art museum established in forgan smith tower in 1976 house artworks collected university of queensland since 1940s, relocating present site in 2004. today, more 3,000 artworks, university s art collection queensland s second largest public art collection.

ipswich campus

the ipswich campus made of 20 buildings , more 5001 students on 25 hectares (62 acres). courses offered included: arts, business, medicine , social sciences interaction design. located near central ipswich, queensland, south of cbd. nearby landmarks include limestone park, workshops rail museum , raaf base amberley.

the site dates 1878 opening of ipswich branch of woogaroo lunatic asylum. operations continued until 1910 when became ipswich hospital insane. in 1938 renamed ipswich mental hospital , in 1964 renamed again ipswich special hospital. named challinor centre in 1968 in honour of dr henry challinor, ship s surgeon on fortitude. 1968-97 challinor centre served institution people intellectual disabilities. in late 1997 challinor centre began first stage of transformation new uq ipswich campus.

in 2014, uq sold ipswich campus university of southern queensland, believing regional teaching campus better utilised usq.

dayboro – dayboro veterinary surgery bought university in 1987 teaching clinic fifth year veterinary students in dairy cattle medicine rotation. later, separate brick accommodation built student accommodation. research projects practical aspects of dairy production carried out clinic staff. there full range of veterinary services , pet care dogs, cats, horses, cows, alpacas, goats, , manner of other small , large animals.
