the church known italian renaissance design. has unusual two-storey façade, supported 2 pairs of columns on each side of arched entrance. top of façade holds recessed niche showcases image of city s patron saint, san guillermo el ermitaño. has windows made capiz wrought iron screens.


it has main retablo , 2 smaller ones on sides. lower level of huge retablo contains image of saint william, parish s patron saint.

the church famous sinking bell tower, sinks ground @ rate of inch year. has survived several minor earthquakes since construction, causing scholars label earthquake baroque style structure. tower, built presumably after 1707 earthquake, has foundation of 90 metres (300 ft). made of locally manufactured bricks joined molasses , juice of sablot leaves mixed lime , sand, , reinforced 4 massive columns on each corner , winding stairway leading belfry. used have large clock on tower s western face.
