the wom brook walk local nature reserve entirely within boundaries of village. stretches 1.5 miles (2.6 km) along both sides of wom brook, traversing village east west. contains mix of meadow , woodland. established after years of work local conservation group, friends of wom brook. there has been great excitement on arrival of wombourne s first little egret in october/november 2010. seen hunting , roosting around wombrook on number of occasions , daniel traynor captured first image of bird later shown in parish news.
