history
beginnings

the first christmas celebration in university held on december 19, 1991 theme, “paskong tomasino, paskong filipino ’91.” featured holy mass, held in ust grandstand, panunuluyan, participated different faculties , colleges, , inter-collegiate lantern-making contest. 14-foot christmas tree erected @ ust grandstand students placed donations victims of mount pinatubo eruption , tropical storm uring (international name: thelma) in ormoc city.


it in 1993 celebration formally named paskuhan. celebration simple gathering spearheaded ust treasurer fr. tereso campillo, o.p.


a more festive paskuhan held in 1994 celebrate upcoming world youth day on january 1995. featured first time 80-foot christmas tree, first designed ust college of architecture , fine arts professor rey mañago.


succeeding years

in 2004, funds celebration donated victims of 4 typhoons struck country.


present day (2009-present)

in 2009, paskuhan entitled as, 4 horas, 4 dias, 4 hundred days, 400 years coincide university s countdown programs of quadricentennial year. celebration began @ 8:00 p.m. of december 18, until 12:00am of december 19, 4 days before december 22, 400 days before january 28, 2011.


the paskuhan mass in 2012 celebrated rev. bruno cadoré, o.p., master of order of preachers , chancellor of university. rev. fr. herminio dagohoy, o.p., university rector, served homilist.


in 2013, celebration served cause mass offerings donated victims of super typhoon yolanda (international name: haiyan).


in 2014, paskuhan festivities moved december 8 december 11 because of typhoon ruby (international name: hagupit). forthcoming visit of pope francis university in january 2015 became main theme of celebration.


the programs in 2015 edition likewise modified because of typhoon nona (international name: melor). mass moved quadricentennial pavilion , concert held @ ust practice gym.
