fm 1488 designated on july 22, 1949 290 (now 290 business) in hempstead northeast fm 1098 north of prairie view college. on december 17, 1952 road extended 8.5 miles montgomery county line, replacing section of fm 1098. same day road extended 21.8 miles 75 (now ih 45), creating concurrency fm 149. concurrency removed on december 2, 1968 when 0.8 mile section of former fm 149 tranferred fm 1488.
