history
early years (1997–2000)

quench grew out of christian folk band why?. singer jamie hill , drummer andy davis started new rock project without folk influences of why? , joined guitarist kevin sefton , bassist ron knights, formed quench (originally under working title of 4 real).


the quench ep (2001)

the quench ep released shortly after band signed elevation records, rock subsidiary of icc records, signed quench on strength of showcase gigs in april 2001.


in 2002, guitarist kevin sefton left band , mark hamilton recruited replace him. mark brought harder edge band drew them away punk/pop influences more emo direction, drawing influence bands jimmy eat world, lostprophets , finch in new sound.


afterglow (2003–2006)

afterglow recorded producers trevor michael , dave lynch @ chapel lane studios in hereford , icc studios in eastbourne. album entirely arranged in studio , process of arranging, recording , mixing achieved in on 3 weeks.


upon release in 2003, afterglow received rave reviews music press including 10/10 rating in cross rhythms magazine. album won best uk christian album award @ 2003 uk gospel awards.

reality radio (2007–present)

2007 saw quench s return record new 4 track ep rock producer joe gibb (jane s addiction, 3 colours red, funeral friend, brigade, etc.). new ep recorded in 1 week in january 2007 @ mighty atom studios in wales , mastered pete maher @ topfloor music. reality radio ep released in august 2008 exclusively itunes download. reality radio has been released , scored excellent review christian media outlet cross rhythms , ccm website louder music.


2009 breakup

on 29 july 2009 quench announced on official myspace site band splitting up. played last gig @ greenbelt on 29 august 2009.
