in 2011, contested – , won – seat in sokoto state house of assembly, representing tambuwal east constituency. while @ sokoto state house of assembly, headed 2 committees namely committee on agriculture (2011-2013) , committee on finance , appropriation (2013-2015).


here, sponsored 3 bills – passed – , represented state assembly on many occasions, including @ meeting of commonwealth parliamentarians, , @ centenary celebrations in united kingdom in 2011.


in 2013, given award sokoto state chapter of farmers’ association of nigeria contributions during tenure chairman of committee on agriculture.

regarding last motion, when former speaker tambuwal defected ruling party, people’s democratic party (pdp) opposition apc, pdp-led federal government withdrew security detail , sought declare seat vacant. in response this, abdussamad dasuki raised motion of urgent importance asking state house of assembly condemn these, and, along 2 other members, applied stay of proceedings in court case against tambuwal, seeking added defendants , stating constituency cannot without representation in house of representatives.


tambuwal succeeded in retaining position, , after had decided contest in gubernatorial election, dasuki sought replace him.
