twenty-four hours before launch, 4 groups of 6 jellyfish polyps each given iodine in artificial sea water (asw) induce strobilization of polyps ephyrae form.


shortly before flight, jellyfish samples loaded total of 10 nizemi cuvettes containing asw , placed in type containers. behavior study, group of normal ephyrae , group of ephyrae without statoliths placed in biorack 22 °c incubator. third group of ephyrae placed in biorack 1-g centrifuge. 2 groups of polyps used development study. 1 group placed in incubator , other placed in 1-g centrifuge. similar set of equipment maintained @ ksc ground-control facility.
