christians brygge built in connection filling of arsenal dock in 1868. street called christiansgade. street continued present-day vester voldgade rysensteen bastion of copenhagen s old west rampart had still not been removed.
rusensteen public sea bath in 1830s
back when new quay constructed, langebro bridge located @ end of vester voldgade. next bridge stood house of drowned (druknehuset). built in 1806, used storing of unidentified victims of drowning while awaited identification. rysensteen public sea bath located @ rysensteen bastion. building located @ new street royal brewery, kongens bryghus, had been based in former military structure on slotsholmen moved new building on other side of frederiksholms kanal in 1771.

christiansgade extended when western rampart removed , connected new west boulevard (now h. c. andersens boulevard) laid out in 1890. langebro bridge moved west boulevard in 1902. house of drowned demolished in 1902 while rysensteen public sea bath dismantled , partly rebuilt on other side of harbor in 1905.

yje new langebro bridge, opened in 1954, passed on christiansgade, turning kalvebod brygge-christiansgade uninterrupted thoroughfare. street name changed christiansgade christians brygge in connection construction of christian iv s bridge in 1963.
