due shuttle fleet being grounded, excess ammonium perchlorate manufactured rocket fuel kept on site @ pacific engineering , production company of nevada (pepcon) plant in henderson, nevada. excess ammonium perchlorate later caught fire , resulting explosion destroyed pepcon facility , neighboring kidd & co marshmallow factory.
