school house, 70 the close, formerly part of carnary college contains classrooms , school offices. while of building dates around 1830, extensive 14th , 15th century features remain such stone entrance archway. building, grade listed, adjoins erpingham gate , 3 storeys high , has 8 bays. school end house, 69 the close, 17th-century timber-framed house built against east end of school chapel. formerly home, grade listed building senior common room staff , school office. entrance pilastered , surrounded lion-mask roundels. music school, 71 the close, built in 1626–28 home prebendaries of cathedral, funded chapter. typical of period, grade ii* listed building constructed flint-rubble, brick, , reused materials monastic buildings in close. replaced earlier house , incorporates remains of medieval free-standing bell tower originating in 12th or 13th century, rebuilt around 1300 , largely demolished 1580.


the bishop s palace built on site of former anglo-saxon parish church of holy trinity. primary wing completed during bishop de losinga s episcopate (1091–1119). bishops suffield (1244–1257) , salmon (1298–1325) developed palace , grounds substantially. under bishop salmon palace underwent ambitious expansion, possibly prompted damage riot of 1272 , personal success of being elected lord chancellor edward iii in 1319. main feature of original palace three-storey fortified tower directly connected cathedral, drawing upon precedent of carolingian imperial palaces. in c. 1858 building underwent major restoration under supervision of ewan christian. building came used school in 1958. today building contains classrooms mathematics , geography taught, junior common room (for sixth form pupils) , libraries in former parlour , undercroft.


the former private chapel of edward reynolds, bishop of norwich, built in 1662 entirely @ own expense. replaced earlier chapel had been severely damaged mob during bishop hall s episcopate (1641–1656). constructed stone plain tile roof, annexes bishop s palace. there coat of arms above doorway badly weathered. grade ii* listed building used dean , chapter storage of records , came used library school under s. m. andrews headship (1967–75) following renovations funded dyers.
