auditions first season held during july , august 2008 in perth, brisbane, melbourne, adelaide , sydney. after being selected, through either impressive initial audition or after choreography workshop, top 100 finalists spent week in sydney more auditions, forming top 20. auditions began on 9 october 2007 in brisbane, queensland , ended in sydney, new south wales on 6 november 2007. 600-seat arena constructed in sydney finals. jack chambers announced winner on 26 april 2008. chambers won $200,000 prize money , title of australia s favourite dancer, rhys bobridge, kate wormald, demi sorono finishing in second, third, , fourth places respectively. several finalists later performed during 2008 australian idol grand final, ten s new year s eve broadcast.


season 2 (2009)

auditions second season held during september , november 2008. dancers auditioning requested bring pre-approved copyright music cds because of music licensing issues. judges hoped season 2 see more industry dancers auditioning after favourable response first season of show. repeats of performance , results show aired week later on muchmusic. talia fowler announced winner on 27 april 2009. fowler received $200,000 prize money, title of australia s favourite dancer , opportunity perform @ finale of america s version of think can dance, while ben veitch came 4th place, amy campbell came 3rd place, while lastly charlie bartley named runner-up.


nigel lythgoe , mary murphy made separate appearances in season guest judges.


season 3 (2010)
