triptych experimental artwork took 2 years complete. work went through many stages , mediums , produced blockhead project. artists involved paul mcgowan creative director, chris stocker, mark lascelles thornton , michael cole. mcgowan gave each artist individual brief. each artist interpreted brief in own way not knowing others brief. work placed through various treatments chris stocker , composed paul mcgowan.

this work mcgowan s body of work produced eden projects living on edge project . piece mcgowan confronted how animals used in development of cosmetics our superficial longing priceless vanity.


friday night saturday morning

this piece created filming mcgowan drinking , smoking @ table. examining process involved in making art , questioning social relevance , existence of art today. next day table presented completed work. t.v on table shows film shot during making session. piece filmed in december 1996 , mcgowan has refused exhibit final work due 1 of original cigarettes being removed piece next day. stating piece has been corrupted.the integrity of work has maintained operate real meaning .
