Course Saw Kill (Hudson River)
the lake @ mill road
as reaches mill road bridge, saw kill widens lake, @ 200 feet (61 m) elevation, created dam southwest of crossing, extends 1,500 feet (500 m) northwest well. past dam, wider, continues flow southwest in wooded corridor past red hook town park on west, outside red hook village line before flows under linden avenue (dutchess county route 79). west of linden meanders again flows west next mile, inside edge of large wooded area abuts worked fields, turns northwestward cross under aspinwall road.
over next thousand feet (300 m), saw kill turns west, receives unnamed tributary north, turns southwest cross under aspinwall road again. surrounding area remains level , heavily wooded on either side of stream large residential lots. saw kill follows rear lines of lots along west bard avenue west , briefly north kelly road, bends southeast again cross under new york state route 9g having descended 50 feet (15 m) lake @ mill road 150 feet (46 m) above sea level.
the saw kill first flows parallel 9g, bends northeast, again dammed in hamlet of annandale-on-hudson, part of hudson river historic district, national historic landmark (nhl), before flowing under last crossing @ river road (dutchess county route 103). flows north, parallel road, until turning northwest @ cedar hill road, part of bard college campus. @ point, begins descend again rapidly on series of waterfalls , cascades, reaching 100 feet (30 m) in elevation in 150 feet (50 m).

amidst woods again, historic montgomery place estate, nhl, on south side, stream turns north 500 feet (150 m), west northwest again descends on zabriskie s falls bring down 50 feet (15 m) in elevation. foot trails parallel on both sides descends through more cascades empty hudson river.
