I'm attempting to figure out WHEN my (step) grandfather James J. Hill was working for/with Mogen David, I know he was a top salesman and that he helped make "sweet wines" popular in the Great Lakes region, I remember a gold ring he had for his accomplishments with the company. James J. Hill was married to my grandmother Louise Grommes Rehm, who became Louise Rehm Hill. This was late 30s up through and after World War II. James J. Hill passed away in 1987 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and my father Charles Emmanuel La Roche passed in 2014 here in Santa Barbara, so I am at a standstill in my quest. I know all this activity emanated out of Chicago and somehow ties in with the old family business, Grommes & Ullrich. Should anyone have information please contact me, thank you! Sincerely, Charles Grommes La Roche in Santa Barbara, California (805) 696-8875 email charleslaroche1966@gmail.com
