the present building, third name, last in series of successive castles , palaces constructed on same site since erection of first castle in 1167. palace today bears witness 3 eras of architecture, result of 2 serious fires in 1794 , in 1884. main part of current palace, finished in 1928, in historicist neo-baroque style. chapel dates 1826 , in neoclassical style. showgrounds built 1738-46, in baroque style.
